AFRIKA é um poster/mapa criado após perceber que uma grande quantidade de pessoas no Brasil tem tratado o território africano como um único país. Com isso, resolvi destacar a extensão do continente, evidenciando quantitativamente as diferentes nações que fazem parte da África.
// AFRIKA is a poster / map created after realizing that a large number of people in Brazil have reacted to the African territory as a single country. Therefore, I decided to highlight the extension of the continent, showing quantitatively the different nations that are part of Africa.
Como elemento central gerei um "mapa base" no QGIS, um software livre e que permite a visualização de dados georreferenciados. A base de dados deste mapa veio através do Map Library. A utilização do QGIS e do MAP LIBRARY tem a intenção de criar uma escala georreferenciada para a representação do continente africano tomando como referência as medidas do poster (60x90cm), somente após essa etapa fui redesenhar as fronteiras no Adobe Illustrator.
// As a central element I generated a "base map" in QGIS, a free software that allows the visualization of georeferenced data. The database for this map came from Map Library. The intention in using QGIS and MAP LIBRARY is to create a georeferenced scale for the representation of the African continent taking as a reference the size of the poster (60x90cm), only after this step did I redesign the borders in Adobe Illustrator.
A moldura do poster foi desenhada a partir de formas triangulares que misturam referências estéticas afrofuturistas, grafismos iorubás e art déco. Tudo isso seguindo um grid de 10x10mm para criar todas as interseções.
// The poster frame was designed based on triangular shapes that mix Afrofuturistic aesthetic references, Yoruba graphics and Art Deco. All of this following a 10x10mm grid to create all the intersections.

As tipografias escolhidas se conectam com as referências citadas e o seus usos foram definidos de acordo com a hierarquia de informação do layout.
// The typographies are connected with the previous references and their uses were defined according to the information hierarchy of the layout.
Foram impressas 100 cópias numeradas do poster, e colocadas a venda no instagram por R$70 cada.
// 100 numbered copies of the poster were printed and offered for sale on Instagram for R$70 each.
